Laurel Klaassen has had many years of working with children and parents. She started her career in education as a Home Economics (Family & Consumer Science) teacher. As many of her students would come to her for help with personal problems, she decided to continue her education by completing a Master’s Degree in School Counseling. As a school counselor for the past 25+ years, she discovered that she was being approached frequently by parents seeking help in dealing with their children. She has helped many parents through offering parenting seminars as well as one-on-one coaching. Her favorite part is when she sees a parent’s eyes light up and respond with a comment such as, “I never thought of that! I can’t wait to go home and get started!”

Being a fan of John Rosemond’s approach to parenting, Laurel was excited to get her husband on board when John spoke in their area. She knew they would parent as a team when he said, “That’s the most common sense parenting approach I’ve heard!”, which was pretty much the same as both of them were raised. They are the parents of 3 daughters and have been blessed with 2 granddaughters.
